Direct Actions

These actions have a dual role. They can change particle data directly, such as the speed or radius, and that is their most common usage. But they can also control an associated modifier in the same way as the Control Modifier actions.

Because of this, all these actions have two possible modes:

Direct Change

In this mode, which is the default, the action will affect a particle directly without any need for a modifier. Changing a particle's group would be a good example: you can do this with a Change Group modifier but you can also do it with the Change Group action without needing a modifier in the scene.

Control Modifier

In this mode the action works in exactly the same way as a Control Modifier action. The action will no longer affect a particle directly but will turn its associated modifier on or off for that particle.
